Dawn & Vinegar Magic Shower Cleaner

I have seen all over Pinterest and Facebook these articles about the Magic Homemade Dawn & Vinegar bathroom cleaner. Today I decided to try it.




Here is how to make this cleaner. You will need:
  • An empty Spray Bottle
  • Dawn dish liquid (The original blue)
  • Vinegar
  • doTERRA essential oils in Lavender and On Guard (optional)
Mix equal parts Dawn and vinegar in the spray bottle (heating the vinegar first). I used 1.5 cups vinegar and 1.5 cups dawn. Than if you would like you can add 5-10 drops of lavender and 5-10 drops of On Guard. The essential oils have added anti-bacterial and.................

Meatloaf, it’s what’s for dinner

Meatloaf traditionally is made in a bread pan but when you are feeding a family of 8 it just takes to many bread pans to complete a meal. So when I have a bunch of mouths to feed I make meatloaf in a cake pan. {Note: It also cuts the baking time almost in half.}
Here is what I used. (These are guesstimates. I am one of those chefs that just throw ingredients in without measuring.)
Meatloaf
  • 2.5 pounds of 80% lean Hamberger
  • 4 eggs
  • approx1 cup of ketchup
  • 1 to 2 cups of ranchy bread crumbs. (see recipe below)
  • 1/2 tps onion powder
  • 1 tbsp Mrs. Dash
  • a few shakes of salt
  • approx 1/4 lb of cheddar cheese
I know there is garlic powder in the picture below but...........

Using Hex Codes to Design Your Website

Understanding a little bit about Hex Codes comes in handy if you are designing your own website, updating a free web template to better suit your needs or if you want your business cards and promotional items to exactly match your website.

What exactly is a hex code? Well, when you went to school and learned math, the system you learned was the decimal system or base 10. In base 10 we use the numbers 0-1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9........look familiar? 

Computers on the other hand use a different system called the hexidecimal system or base 16. Because we don't have symbols to represent 10-11-12 etc we use letters to represent those numbers. 0-1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-A-B-C-D-E-F

So what does that have to do with colors? Well, I'll tell ya. Computers see colors in RGB (Red, Green, Blue), each of those can have a value from 0 to 255, with 0 being the absence of color, 255 being full color. 

Example: Red = 255-0-0 
                   Green = 0-255-0
                   Blue = 0-0-255

Oil Pulling: A Natural Detox for Health

 

 

Oil pulling… um, what?

That was pretty much my reaction when I first heard about oil pulling. Someone in one of my doTERRA groups had posted asking if oil pulling could be considered as a natural alternative for mouth wash. Feeling a bit stupid for asking I commented asking what oil pulling was. I read the article they suggested, then Googled it and read more articles. I couldn't wait to try it. Luckily I use unrefined coconut oil for everything so I had a jar already.

I must say, it's wasn't as easy or fun as they made it sound. The oil felt funny in my mouth, I couldn't seem to suppress the urge to swallow, my jaw and cheeks hurt from trying to swish for 20 minutes and my kids kept asking me questions that I couldn't answer because I had a mouth full of oil. After I spit, rinsed and brushed my teeth I was amazed at how clean my mouth felt. That was enough motivation for me to do it again.

I like to flavor my oil pulling with doTERRA's oils. I have tried Wild Orange, Peppermint, Lemon and On Guard. (I doubt I will do the On Guard again unless I have a sore in my mouth because it was to much for me.) Most of the time I stick two peppermint beadlets in the...........
